ive got about 1500 data points. they are all ages.

how can i group the ages together, or at least tell me how many of each age there is?

ive got 3 90 year olds, 1 87y/o, 2 85 y/o

ages range from 17-90.

what kinda formula to put it?

do a sort then subtotal and it'll prompt you to do sum or count then it'll automatically give you a count of how many people are in that age.
