1) I need to find the average mercury content in Baby Food.

2) Also, I need the chemical method used by the FDA (or another study altogether) to find the amount of mercury in foods. How they test, what they use, etc.

I'm having trouble finding this info, troll on, hopefully someone will find something I can use.

need the concentration in PPM (parts per million), PPB (per billion), or mg/kg

the chemical method question would be more useful, honestly

here's a good one:

http://archive.food.gov.uk/maff/archive/food/infsheet/1999/no190/table1-3.pdf

or at least it gives you specific units

[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 7:16 PM. Reason : mg/kg]

any idea where I should look for the methods used to detect mercury levels?

I'm not really much of a chemist.
