Anyone know of any decent courses near Boone. Boone CC is booked solid for the next two days. I've got a time at Mountain Glen but really do not feel like driving to Newland. Is the course a Sugar Mountain any good? Any other courses in Banner Elk? Thanks.

I might give Mountain Aire a shout. Anyone ever played there?

I know Hawksnest is closed.

Boone GC is decent but not worth the $50 you have to pay....Mountain Glen is fair in price. Other than those two and Mountain Aire, the rest are private and very nice. Linville, Linville Ridge, Grandfather, Hounds Ears, Elk River, Diamond Creek and Beech Mountain are all SUPER courses if you can get on. Good luck with those, you need super connections especially Elk River and Diamond Creek.

I can't remember if Jefferson Landing and Blowing Rock CC are private or not, never played them.

[Edited on July 18, 2008 at 2:15 PM. Reason : Sugar Mountain is a par 64 executive like course that is the cheapest in area but is still decent]
