nah man, i don't dislike Tim, and he's definitely a tough bastard and a good fighter, but I was always surprised to see him win a title. he's just never struck me as THAT good.

my roommate and i were talking this afternoon about this fight tonight, saying that Sylvia would only have a chance if he could keep Fedor at bay with his reach and managed to land a lucky shot.

Bullshit. Sylvia doesn't have a goddamn clue how to finish good fighters. He sticks around the top because he is a friggin giant and has a 6" reach advantage on anyone he fights and pretty good take-down defense. Absolute best case scenario for him going into this fight would have been if fedor stood back a bit and traded with him and sylvia was able to damage him from long distance.

It was amazingly simple to predict that if fedor pushed the pace of the fight that sylvia would lose and lose fast.

tim got caught early and took some shots from fedor that would have KO'd mark hunt, it happens at least tim is one of the few fighters who havent been fighting cans and b level opponents. EVERYONE tim fights is top of the line

^^^^In the last two and a half years he has had 8 fights, 5 went to decision, 2 submission losses and one lucky as hell knockout of andre arlovski.

I never said the guy sucks, but he fights safe as hell and he is boring to watch unless someone is pounding on his ass.

i like the way he fights personally, i felt he was comin out way too fast and too low against fedor

he doesnt have the kinda mobility to fight in that stance

you're probably right. he said in the post fight press conference that he stayed low to avoid the takedown, but he probably would have been better off on the ground with the way he got caught because of his crouching stance

there is not a whole lot to see..

- Sylvia saunters out in a hunched over goofy stance
- Fedor rushes in and connects twice
- Sylvia stumbles
- Fedor connects hard and sends Sylvia to the ground
- Fedor jumps on his back, punches a few times and then sinks the rear naked choke. fight over in 36 seconds

You want to see a highlight reel, look at the silva knockout that ZomB posted above.

it was a lethal combo

i like the choke fedor used, it seemed more efficient than the traditional RNC


another good highlight reel was the C.B. Dolloway switch off JT's thrown punch followed by the modified guillotine submission on the UFC fight night once he took JT's back

that was an awesome end to a fight, and i was rootin like hell for JT
