I'm graduating in may from a second degree and I am so done with school. Really want to celebrate after graduation. Was thinking of packing it through Europe (I know, so cliche) but I've always told myself I would do it.
Anyone done it? Have any advice about the eurorail? Just need to start planning..

some friends of mine did the same thing after graduating HS.

one of them lost his DSLR camera the first night at a bar, and the other lost his whole backpack on a hike.

granted they were both stoned/smashed the whole time.

i did it. highly recommended.

depending on how long you want to go for, you can buy a eurail pass to fit your needs. what i ended up doing was buying a ticket to fly into paris and fly out of london. everything in between was loosely scheduled. usually i would book a hostel in the next city from the internet cafe or hostel computer before moving along. depending on what time of year you go (i went in january) booking hostels last minute will vary.

there are tons of tips but the big one i will offer: if you're on a serious budget, i recommend brining a small backpack with non perishable food items. you can save a lot of money this way and since europe doesnt offer the convenience you find in the US, it could also save you from missing a meal and going hungry on a 6 hour train ride

lose 10lbs before you go to italy

you'll gain it back in 24 hours of coffee, wine, gelato, pasta, etc.

totally worth every bite & sip!
