wall ball is fantastic

the best part is when the injury you get from wrecking yourself to get back to the wall is way worse than the welt that the pegging would've left

i just read the wiki entry for wall ball and there's no way we could've came up with or followed those rules

hell, we thought we were doing good with "smear the queer"

that's a really complicated version

we played it where if you caught it before it bounced that counted for a peg, but otherwise you used your open palm to smack it back against the wall and if you miss-hit it or caught it you had to touch the wall before someone played it or you got pegged

yeah, i'm looking through all this and the "NC Ball" version is exactly what we played

lol

wiki has me looking at all this shit, and now i want to play eton fives:

all the courts look like that, including the step and the buttress at the left

we played that you had to catch it with one hand, but if you dropped it (or used two hands) then you had to run for the wall

and if you threw the ball back, it was automatic butts up

this shit got us through camp back in the day

in middle school the students had to go to the gym and hang out before classes started. all the guys would play a big game of wall ball every day without fail. i have no idea how the admins let it happen for so long. then we got a new principal and they put an end to it, it was a great time though. wall ball ftw
