The bottom line is, there are an equal number of people spread across the left right spectrum in TSB. For the ones that are pretty far left, there are equals on the right. To those that fall close to the center on the left, there are those on the right. Then you have a few that fall near the center being on the right fiscally and slightly left socially.


LiusClues definitely falls farther to the left, which is exactly why folks like aaronburro, hooksaw, and twista get more enraged by him than say bobbydigital, etc.

It's pretty ghey to have him suspended.

i was gonna say, there are few, if any, true neocons who post in the soap box. i'm sure you could count them on one or two fingers (not counting the odd chit-chat poster who comes in to make a post in TSB once per month who doesn't really know much about politics, but parrots a Bush Administration talking point). I can't even think offhand of any true neocons who regularly post in the soap box, although i know i've seen one or two in there.

yeah, i would say that the spread across the left-right spectrum is roughly equal. I think maybe, at least in some ways, there are more people who lean far left...so many of those who lean far right fiscally are moderate socially or somewhat left socially. There aren't too many who really are far to the right both socially and fiscally.

There are a lot of libertarians (and even Libertarians), of varying degrees and stripes. That's partially a generational thing, i think, and partially because libertarian ideals at least loosely encompass what a lot of people want, although they don't always necessarily register and/or vote that way.

most of the people at both ends of the political spectrum are pretty annoying, in my opinion. not so much because of what they believe, but because they never shut the fuck up.

Has anyone actually won a "fight" with a mod? They seem to pretty much make decisions based on whatever whim they might have.

They go discuss things in their Ivory Tower, and you hope they're in a good mood when your name comes up.

LiusClues did a real awesome job of riling folks up. I think it's sad that a bunch of (assumed) adults just refuse to reply to someone like that, then when they realize they can't win, they just start crying for someone to be suspended so they can feel like they actually accomplished something.
