^^ my understanding is that they let one (or more) guys go 20-30 minutes ahead of time, and that person leaves markers (they're the rabbit)...the rest of the group (the hounds) goes afterwards and "hunt" them...the catch is that the rabbit can leave switchbacks and false trails and such

they also have snack stops where they drink beer or wine or water or whatever

so it's like a game of hound and hare, with booze

D-erections: The best way to do this would be to use google maps or mapquest. I don’t know where you all live. However, I will still do my best to guide you in the right direction. Get to Wake Forest Road somehow. Turn onto Creekside Drive. If you’re coming from one direction you will turn left, if you’re coming from the other you will turn right. You’ll pass the Carolina Ale House. The Longbranch is right next door. Drive around back. There you will find hashers.

Dogz: Okay on leash, but they won’t be able to hang at the on-after.

Baby Joggers: Will be fine, although the little ones may have to miss out on the best parts of trail. But we'll go back and get them later. And they can hang at the on-after.

Hare Notes: A trail with a combination of all those things a good hasher loves: Beer, shiggy, roads & traffic, PI & ticks (I think they’re both still around), construction equipment, forest creatures, odd looks from strangers, and the peaceful sounds of nature disrupted by the yelling of drunken hashers. And beer. There will also be a fair amount of water. And who would want to cum get wet on a slippery cooter hash? On-after right next door at the Carolina Ale House.

D-erections: From 40: Exit 279B (Durham Freeway North) Take Exit 14 (“Swift Ave/Duke East Campus”) Turn right at the Traffic light at the end of the exit ramp. Remain in the right lane for about 75 feet. Turn right at the first corner onto West Pettigrew St (which will be before the railroad tracks). Look for hashers parallel parked near the 2nd complex on the right – 2 large white houses (Center for Documentary Studies). We’re just past the Hillcrest Convalescent Center(Is that an Omen or what??).

Dogz: Okay, but they'll need to be on leash - busy road crossings.
