w00t relay races! so we're having a company summer picnic in a few weeks, and we're renting THIS!



we were trying to get a double slide, but it's $texas so we scratched that idea. when I first saw the double slide I, of course, saw relay race potential. We're still going to do it, but time each team and the team with the best time wins.

And b/c it was my idea, I get to organize it! I should have more ideas having watched a lot of Double Dare, Wild n Crazy Kids, and GUTS back in the day, but I'm coming up short. The slide being the final event. This is what I got so far:

1) spin the bat--put your forehead on a baseball bat that's perpendicular to the ground and spin round X number of times
2) marble spoon--keep the marble on the spoon from point A to point B, if you drop it you go back to the beginning
3) chugging a beer--this is a drinking event afterall, and most everyone in the office enjoys knocking back a few so why the hell not? if kids or teetotalers were participating in the race have them chug lemonade.


For order of the relay with the ideas I do have I was thinking chug beer, marble spoon, spin bat, run to the top of the slide and slide down, tag your next teammate.

There's gonna be prizes to the team that wins--what I'm not sure yet. So prize options/ideas would be good too. I've got to plug my ideas to the picnic organizer beginning of next week.

ok i just had a flashback of Mr. Mom--there was the tri-cycle portion. big people on tri-cycles FTW. I'd have to see if the place we're doing it has an acceptable track though...hmmmm

You can do the apple race where you put an apple or orange under your chin and the next person has to get it from you without using their hands.

Slip n Slides are always a good way to finish.

Nothing like carelessly flinging your body down a large, wet and soapy piece of plastic to get the title of "Winner". (If you use baby oil at the bottom it ensure hilarity, also- scarring.)

You have to do the sponge in the water bucket thingy where you have to fill the bucket to a certain line by squeezing out the sponge!

Make a cream pie (no homo) and put something in the bottom that a person has to find then move on to the next obstacle.

i think the sponge thing would be cool (plus cooling)...but definitely not the pie thing.

can't do a slip n slide unfortunately people weren't willing to put on bathing suits and bossman wouldn't allow one in his yard...that's why we've got this slide.

apple under the chin is good...but may cross some comfort zones with employees. i'll suggest it though!
