Sunday night, I go to bed feeling fine, without incident. Monday morning I wake up, and it feels like my left knee is getting smashed by tiny men inside of it and regular sized men outside of it. Whenever it is fully extended, contracted, bending, or supporting any weight, it hurts like holy hell. The only time it doesn't is when I let it sit perfectly still for a while.
So, what's the verdict? 7/29/2008 11:59:43 AM |

you must amputate. 7/29/2008 12:00:33 PM |

Frankly I'd settle for some idea of who I should go see about this. Normally I consider knees a problem exclusively for people who are athletic and, you know, do stuff. So I don't even know where to go. 7/29/2008 12:01:50 PM |

Aspirin or Motrin today and see if it goes away by tomorrow. 7/29/2008 12:02:41 PM |

well you can start with your primary care physician. let him/her refer you to a specialist if need be
but the exact opposite of the right person to go see is TWW

I don't really have a primary care physician in Raleigh, and my one in Greensboro just recently retired. So I suppose I'd better start looking about a new one. 7/29/2008 12:04:54 PM |

are you in Greensboro now? I go to Eagle Family Physicians in Greensboro. They all have several doctors on staff so your chance of getting in to see one today is really good. plus they are pretty much always accepting new patients.
i would definitely recommend that over going to urgent care. urgent care is more expensive and you'll sit in the lobby for at least an hour 7/29/2008 12:06:51 PM |

Maybe that's the problem, you haven't been exercising enough. But, a GP can direct you to a specialist, that's part of their job.7/29/2008 12:08:24 PM |

Yeah, well, they can amputate the motherfucker before a dramatic increase in exercise is going to happen. But OK, fine, any recommendations for GP's in Raleigh? 7/29/2008 12:09:45 PM |

Who is your insurance with? Usually they have lists of GPs in your area. Its a good way to make sure you pick one in network too 7/29/2008 12:10:56 PM |

When I look to set up a more permanent doctor-patient relationship I'll worry about the insurance, right now I just want a good, competent doctor, and TWW is so hate-filled and cynical that anyone who gets even a lukewarm recommendation must meet those qualifications. 7/29/2008 12:13:36 PM |

i never had a GP when I was in Raleigh, so I'll be of no help there 7/29/2008 12:14:59 PM |

I am going to try to bring this back up to see if anything useful comes of it
