it looks like i'm going to have to live by myself for the next year.
Does it suck? Did anybody really miss having roommates? 7/30/2008 4:22:58 PM |

when I first bought my house I had a roommate for a year..then i lived alone for a year which i started missing having a roommate towards the end so i got new roommates which i lived with for a year before needing to find a new roommate because they were too loud and the neighbors complained all the time.
long story short: having roommates is nice if you get along great with your roommate and they aren't a mess. 7/30/2008 4:35:24 PM |

I can't wait until I start making more money. I need my own damn place where I can fuck when I want to fuck, eat when I want to eat, and... yeah. 7/30/2008 4:39:39 PM |

I LOVE LOVE LOVE living alone. I love the privacy, the responsibility, everything.
Of course, I was an only child for 17 years so I got used to being alone. 7/30/2008 4:41:22 PM |

I'm living alone now for the first time, I love it, for all the reasons you can imagine. I do miss roommates sometimes, but I can always just go out or call someone over.
That said, living alone is expensive, and I don't mind having roommates as long as we get along. I'm not sure what I'll do when my lease here is up, but I'm thinking the ongoing battle between my job and my expensive hobbies might dictate the answer more than any preference. 7/30/2008 4:44:35 PM |

HELL NO IT DOESNT SUCK.... now you can get drunk, jack-off naked (put a towel on the chair in case you ever invite company over, dont want your chair smelling like ass) w/o your head phones (thats unless you like to feel like your right in the action) pass out in your chair naked, wake-up and repeat 7/30/2008 5:00:59 PM |

living alone isn't bad really. you never have to clean up anyone else's mess in order to have a fully clean house, you get to watch what you want on the main tv, never have to wait to cook anything, etc etc etc
of course there are some drawbacks... but if you get that lonely, you can always get a dog or a girlfriend. 7/30/2008 5:09:27 PM |

living alone isn't terrible. you'll enjoy all the the freedom without realizing it really. freedoms that you don't even realize you're missing out on until you get to experience them.
then the second you get a roommate again, after living by yourself....little things will start to annoy you about them. for example, you'll notice that no matter where you need to walk, stand, or sit...your roommate will have the uncanny ability to be standing in your path. I'm dead serious. You'll get so sick of saying "excuse me" that you'll want to murder them 7/30/2008 5:19:02 PM |

While I've never minded having roommates, I have always loved living by myself. And when I used to live in Creedmoor, I had an apartment all to myself (but those days are long gone now ). It's really nice not having to put up with anyone else's shit. You can use your washer and dryer whenever you want, and without having to worry about how long you take. You never have to listen to anyone bitch at you about taking out the trash, or leaving your shoes and other crap lying around, etc. You can get around to washing your dishes and stuff whenever you feel like it, instead of whenever other people yell at you to do it. Basically, you get to do what you want, how you want, and when you want. 7/30/2008 5:37:30 PM |

i would MUCH rather live by myself than with roommates. but it's really just a matter of personal preference
and I agree with sumfoo1. I lived on my own for like 4 years (not counting the last year I lived with my ex), and now I have a roommate and it sucks.

when i bought my house, i thought about getting a roommate to rent out the other master
but i put it off all the time, and now i realize that i REALLY like having the whole place to just the gf and i, so i don't think i'll be doing the roommate thing unless, for some reason, money gets tight (but i don't see why it would) 7/31/2008 9:21:41 AM |
