I am moving a vehicle this weekend and cant move it with a dolly. Will uhaul rent one of their car trailers without making me rent a truck? has anyone ever rented from go slow tow on 401? thats my backup plan. I have enough truck, and the vehicle is very light. 7/31/2008 10:35:22 PM |

i've never rented just the car hauler, but i'm pretty sure you can do it
i bet they have a website that will give you the answer, and probably give you the phone number of someone at uhaul who can tell you. 7/31/2008 10:37:53 PM |

nice. the website makes it seem like the car trailer has to be pulled with their truck. 7/31/2008 10:40:49 PM |

yep, i used to rent from the one on capital years ago. just make sure you tell them you're towing something really small, any compact should do. i've seen them deny some stupid stuff. i don't know how long you need it, but they won't let you keep it any longer than 24 hours for an in town rental.
you might consider united rentals out on new bern ave./64 east also if it's not to far out of your way. i rented there for a couple of years until i bought my trailer. they were $10-20 cheaper than uhaul, didn't care what you were pulling, full wood deck, and you can rent for days or weeks at a time. you can try haggling with them too. sometimes they'll knock the price down, especially if you don't need it for a full 24 hours or something.
if you've got an electric brake controller, you're welcome to borrow my trailer man. 7/31/2008 11:55:05 PM |

United always, well, most of the time, cut some slack. Good folks. Nice trailers. I think we had one for about 2 years. 8/1/2008 12:01:10 AM |

that trailer you rented from United was a lot better than any uhaul crap and was very reasonable. I wonder what the uhaul people would have thought if they saw that silage wagon on the trailer? 8/3/2008 11:03:33 PM |

so I went to United Rentals and rented a twin axle 16' trailer, it was low to the ground, ramps with springs, surge brakes and lots of D-rings. They have two over page rd, one had a ball, I got the one with a pintle. it was $65 for the trailer and the optional insurance. I liked it, it trailed very well, ran 75 on the interstate empty coming back. I will go back if I need to move more farm stuff home. They didnt ask what I was putting on it. 8/6/2008 9:53:28 PM |
