I'd say either throwing a knuckleball or kicking field goals...both seem like you could have long careers, make money and not tear up your body too quickly

kicking field goals or long snapping. you can make league minimum being on the coverage team and snapping. league minimum .... is a fuck load btw.

to be fair .... teaching your kdis to be left handed is also a good decision ... if you have a lefty that throws atleast 80-85 he will absolutely have a have a spot in some orginization. I plan on left handed twins so they can pitch to each other... I'll tie their right arms to their sides if i have to lol.

Fencing, crew or some other random sport. That will help them get into an ivy league school on scholarship.

Conditioning - not just in one activity but being able to rapidly switch between various movements without fatiguign

Explosion: not just being a meat head, but delivering the power with speed and perfect timing

Hips: a dude with great hip movement and hip explosion, both rotational and lateral hip movements, will be balanced and always have his strength base and positional advantage

i think those three things are the basis for being a great athlete, most anything can be taught but youve gotta increase the limits of your bod to realize excellence in the techniques

1.LISTENNNNNN-to your coaches, trainers, teamates

2.TAKE OVER-be in charge. play your game. not your opponents

3.be a RUNNER(dade county speed)-the faster competitor will win 90% of the time

4.UNITY MAN-for team sports its all about team work.

5.STAY SO HOOD-(while reserving sportsmanship) don't be nice to your opponent . helping an opponent up during contest is only wasting your energy and saving his. you are NEVER happy to lose. losing is unacceptable.
dy
6.STAY OUT THERE GRINDING-don't matter what nobobody say you gotta get you you cuz you are the beast. practice makes perfect. jordan didnt take 300 shots a night for nothing.

0.always remember...WETHEBEST!- you have to be the best mentally before you can physically. know you are the best and you'll be the best

I know a guy who has a 10 year old son that has been playing baseball for several years. He's a right handed kid, but his dad only lets him hit left handed.

He's still the best hitter on his team.

Making it on the PGA Tour is not near as easy as the casual fans might think......

Only a few make it there and players worldwide are competing for those spots.

the spin move, the swim move, and the rip move

and my personal favorite, a quick strike to the nuts with the left hand and a swim move with the right.

tennis...its a game you can be really good at whether you end up being short or tall and whether you're strong, weak or average build. there are some guys of slight stature (simon comes to mind) that can still smoke the ball.

A recent study showed that the fastball is actually tougher on the arm than a curveball (when a curve is thrown correctly, of course)

Tape a dime to the wall and make him kick a soccer ball at it from 10, 20, and 30 yards away until he can hit it 25x in a row with each foot.

Ditto on free-throw shooting.

If you can handle the ball competently, and are quick enough not to be an extreme liability on defense....there has to be a spot on any team for a 90+% free-throw shooter.

That, and it's one of the few places in professional spots outside of golf, tennis or baseball (decreasingly so) for an average-sized white guy. And that is what most of the kids in this discussion will be

teach it to keep a wicket...just kidding.

i would say swing a golf club, but there's a lot of lifelong golf players that aren't Tiger and aren't anywhere close. plus there's a lot of elements that go into being that good so it wouldn't count as one technique/skill.

i'd say kicking a mean field goal might be the one thing for long term sustainable athletic prosperity.

and off the field, i agree with this:

Quote :
""coach

cause if you can coach, you can coach anything

and you can do it forever""

matter of fact, my children will be chess playing master strategists from the get go. especially since they'll be Indian, and the only thing proven to be good at is Cricket (Vijay Singh not withstanding).

baseball - make him catch. Easiest way to make a team is be a good defensive catcher who can hit for average. Left handed pitcher is easy but that isn't something you can choose as easily.

basketball - shooting. There is always a spot on a team for someone who can stroke a three.

football (not including kicker) - safety. You dont have to be big or fast. Good instincts can mask physical deficiencies.

tennis - backhand. Its a sport dominated by serving but you cant control height or arm length. Most people's weakness is backhand. If you can make it a weapon its a decided advantage.

golf - short game, obviously.

keep your eye on the ball

if you really learn that you'll be a better golfer, baseball player, softball player, volleyball player, in some positions football and soccer player, etc

i play a lot of basketball and d1 softball and it KILLS me when you have goons trying to "hit homeruns" and their head ends up facing the sky...same with "killing a driver" in golf.

I'd teach my kids bags

because when he fails at all other sports just like 99.9% of kids he'll at least be good at something while he is being social and drinking

Honestly, when/if I have a boy, I'll tell him that whatever he wants to do, so do millions of other people. So if you want to be able to make a living out of it, you better work your ass off. Which sucks, because sports are meant for fun, and trying to force somebody to work at something they don't want to do when they're a teenager won't be any fun. You honestly just have to hope you have a kid with that drive. I didn't have it, which is why I got worse my last two years of HS and college. Even when people were trying to make me. Anyways, if they love it enough to do it forever, once you try to force it on them harder they probably won't love it as much and will lose interest

well... you know, if I ever have kids I probably don't want my father son relationship to be defined by how hard I made him practice. I got short legs, he ain't going nowhere.

so I guess I agree with you.
