I'm trying to make a playlist of rap covers/remakes of non-rap songs. I'm leaning more towards remakes than just straight up covers.

Examples:
Kanye West - Stronger (Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger)
Black Eyed Peas - Pump It (Dick Dale - Misirilou)
That Linkin Park/Jay-Z album.

Stuff like that. Any ideas?

I'd also be interested in stuff like the JXL remix of Elvis' Little Less Conversation

that's right...when rappers do it, it's "sampling"

unless it's vanilla ice...then it's just flat out theft

Isn't all rap pretty much covers/samples of older, better music?

^^^not all, just most

here's a rap song that's about 30 times better than the original:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TnwU2iMRUqA

as a bonus, that video is a hilarious windows movie maker slideshow where the lyrics pop up in a comic sans style font

yes, remake and cover are terrible words for what he's describing...BUT he did describe what he meant so u can't hate that much.

^^a good one is Fugees "stayin alive"

they kinda went with the song id consider that as bout as good an actual cover as you can get

if you want to see a genre completely bite a song check out country music or these alternative cover bands that do the very shit that you are bitching about

but you probably love it, at least in rap they change the words..or SOMETHING about the damn song

curtis mayfield William DeVaughn

also I'd say Outkast's "West Savannah" is more appropriate as a remake of DeVaughn's "Be Thankful For What You've Got" than Luda's song
