Rodger Corman signed on.
But the character names don't seem to be the same as in the original. They seem to be toning down the cheese factor. Looks more like a demolition derby than the Trans-Continental Road Race.
In short, I am...concerned.

i don't think this will be cheesy enough, but i'll see it anyway...joan allen is basically playing an over the top soap opera villain, so that part should be either great or wonderfully mail-it-in awful

They should've cut out all of the scenes that didn't involve racing so that the movie was just 45 minutes and just as enjoyable.
