So far the only place where Tryon vendors delivers it to is the Fresh market on Southwest Cary Parkway. I can't seem to find Moxie anywhere in Raleigh, and the Fresh market is currently sold out.

Originally? It was a popular snake oil remedy manufactured in Massachusetts in the late 1800's as a cure all panacea. The FDA founded in 1906, found that most of it's claims were false, and they canceled it as a medicine. It proved to be tasty, so it still had quite a following, and now it's sold as a refreshing soda. 8/4/2008 11:29:53 PM |

pretty sure one of the indoor vendors at the farmer's market has them, the one with the wooden tubs of ice & glass-bottle sodas
in related news, moxie is possibly one of the worst tasting sodas ever
thanks, new england 8/5/2008 6:57:20 AM |

He looks like he's wearing makeup.
That same place in the farmer's market has cheerwine and sun-drop in the glass bottles and made with cane sugar. Now that's a good soda. 8/5/2008 10:47:30 AM |

I happen to like homemade saltwater taffy.
Moxie's made with pure cane sugar, and they don't sell it at the Farmer's Market. They do however sell delicious NC Cheer Wine & RC cola.
It's one of those sodas that you grow into to. I honestly didn't enjoy the aftertaste the first few times I had it. 8/5/2008 3:09:07 PM |

if you find a place locally that sells it, check to see if they sell red rock ginger ale, too 8/5/2008 3:43:48 PM |

Not sure about Moxie, but you can buy Bubble Up, Nesbitt's, and NuGrape at World Market in Cary Crossroads.
I'll bet they could get Moxie.
BTW, you can get bottled drinks made with sugar (instead of corn syrup) at the State Farmers Market. I think they have Sun Drop, Mountain Dew, and RC--they have a "brighter" taste, for lack of a better description. 10/20/2008 5:29:01 AM |
