What type of pet do you prefer? I seen this brought up before on other websites. A girl on the "are you single" thread said she will be single soon if her boyfriend doesn't let her have a dog.

My sister has a dog that won't quit barking. It annoys the crap out of me when he is around. Both of my sisters got a cat when they were little. The cats are now 15 years old, but have never caused any problems. They do a good job of getting rid of mice too. My mom's fish are nice too because they just swim around and don't bother anyone. I guess I perfer cats.

when i get my own place, i won't mind having one of each, but i would get them at puppy/kitten age together so they grow up w/ one another
