Got bored at work:

Net Speed: 113 WPM
Accuracy: 93%
Gross: 121 WPM

No cheating. Can't do a passage over and over again but you can pick your fastest passage out of the 5. This was my first try on "The Irrational Side of Managerial Decision-making."

Normally on these tests, they count errors even if you go back and fix them. So I got 100% accuracy, which isn't right, but I went much slower than if I hadn't actually stopped to fix the errors: ~88 wpm.

Wouldn't it make sense for it to not count the errors if you fix them? I mean fixing errors is a part of efficient typing.

But you still screwed up, even after you fixed it. That's what an error is.

^^well typing speed relates to how well you can type up documents and have them ready to submit or whatever. So an error should really only be an error if it shows up at the end.

i don't really plan on data entry as a back up job so i think my 92% 77wpm is fine, especially on this laptop keyboard. i'd like to see a typing test where you type in source code

85 WPM, 100% accuracy. I go for accuracy rather than speed when I type, since I hate having to backspace and correct typos.

i'm the same way. When i am thinking about what i'm typing i rarely ever make mistakes and can type so much faster. But copying text, i always tend to make more mistakes.

also, my job doesn't require too much typing outside of email and proposals. And the proposals are pretty uniform, only editing certain things to make them pertain to the specific job in reference.

I'm pretty consistent in the mid 40s in WPM. I can go really fast in bursts for words and phrases that are built into muscle memory, but on average my pace is, well, average.

lol, make sure to follow which word it has highlighted..a few times i messed up a word and i thought i was on a different word than it said i was--in which case you have to follow it if you want to get above a 0
