bachelor party. want to fish. 12-14 people. not hardcore fisherman and just want to enjoy ourselves. from what i hear charters can't take that many so head boat is best option. true!?

reccommend a good head boat in the wilmington area? preferably wrightsville but i realize that's not the prime spot for offshore fishing.

I've heard of the Vonda Kay and the Winner Queen in that area.

I fish that area but have never been on a headboat from there. Might want to ask in this thread also:

winner queen is down in carolina beach. bout 15-20mins from wilm. 30 from wrightsville.

i've never been on that one, but ive been on a deep sea fishing boat.

they put like 50 people on that boat and everyone drops a line in. so the perimeter of the boat is all fishing lines.. so its pretty much if the fish likes the shape of your line because just about everyone will be using the same bait. winner queen may be different, but it looks similar to the type of boat we went on in myrtle.

^All headboats are like that (though size of the boat varies quite a bit, as does # of people). The allure of them is that the places they drop on have enough fish to where everyone is catching them. Plus if you know what you're doing, you can also increase your chances to hook up.

Also, Carolina Beach IS in the wilmington area as much as wrightsville pretty much. They're all within 10 miles of each other. 10 minutes from wilmington to CB and 15 minutes from CB to Wrightsville.

Well, I guess it depends on which parts you are talking about.

I make it from the marina in WB to where my boat is stored in CB in 15-20 minutes all the time, hauling my boat.

Anyways...google "headboat wilmington" and i'm sure you'll get some hits in the AREA.
