I like the part where they crash on that garbage asteroid and the junkticons try to intimidate the autobots by spazzing out to some Weird Al music.

Movie is off the chain. I laugh at the critical people in TWW. I have enjoyed most of M. Bay's movies for what they are.

I am so up for Transformers 2...Hope Shia can get back to the set, or has already gotten back on the set.

I actually thought Transformers was pretty good. I honestly don't see how you could say it sucked. You may not have liked it but it didn't suck.

Resident Evil 2, House of the Dead, Best of the Best 2-4............... those movies sucked

Optimus Prime "killed" a Decepticon with an energy sword to the face.... how in the hell can you say that sucks?

Oh I don't know, maybe because I like a little bit of substance in films. I don't care that people like it, that's cool, but I don't, and I honestly thought it sucked ass. I mean there were some exciting parts, but as a whole a bunch of CGI and explosions just aren't enough to make a good movie in my opinion.

I'm a reasonable man, get off my case.

^ there is absolutely no substance to transformers

that's the point

even if you wanted to develop the characters, it would cease to be the giant fucking robot movie that we all want, and if i'm going to have a character-based film, i'd rather have one that uses more interesting characters than the four stock heroes and four stock heels that they're using in this series of transformers films

but who i really, really don't give a shit about is the witwickys

sparkplug, spike, and daniel...fuck 'em all

ROBOTS, MAN

IT DOESN'T MATTER, IT'S A MOVIE. THEY TRIED TO PUT SUBSTANCE IN IT AND FAILED MISERABLY.

and anyway, i'm not a little kid saying "ooh! Robots!" anymore. maybe that's my problem and not the movie's, but that doesn't make the movie any better, I don't care if it's supposed to be a mindless action flick.

I don't like Under Siege 2 and I don't like Transformers.

let's never forget that

with that said, it's a completely unreasonable expectation to ask for substance in a movie that's based on toys

not the other way around

the toys came before the show and the movie

Starscream pissed me off as well, since he was my favorite character from the cartoon.

I was annoyed and pissed when I first saw the new designs for the transformers
Then I became doubtful that they would work when I saw what new Optimums looked like
Then when I saw bumblebee I finally accepted them
Finally I actually started to like them when I saw the trailers

BUT THIS IS NOT STARSCREAM

Going into a movie about GIANT ROBOTS from space that is based on a popular toy and cartoon series and coming out angry because the plot was uneventful and there was too many explosions and CGI is snobbish and/or retarded.

[Edited on August 13, 2008 at 5:48 PM. Reason : yes that was a run-on sentence but i dont care]

[Edited on August 13, 2008 at 5:49 PM. Reason : you gotta Admit though, Starscream's actions were pretty badass even if his design was weird]

i don't think you guys are getting me.

they tried to put substance in. they failed. I'd rather it be full blown silly robot action than them try to make a stupid fucking story about glasses. but they mixed, and it simply didn't work. I'm not going to pretend the stupid terrible shit didn't happen in order to like the movie as a whole for some robot action.

but vinylbandit is right, i'm relatively ignant when it comes to transformers, i wasn't a huge transformers watcher. but that doesn't make the movie any better, from an objective standpoint..

I'm so tired of hearing about "going into a movie expecting" this or that.

Some people just aren't going to like certain movies regardless of expectations. you can say "you didn't like this movie because of your retarded expectations" about ANY MOVIE EVER MADE, LITERALLY.

it's a movie about giant robots from outer space, OF COURSE I'M NOT EXPECTING CITIZEN KANE. I just didn't like the fucking movie, jesus. and it had nothing to do with my expectations.

i'm done here, i really don't give a fuck if you people like it, i don't see why you care so much that I don't. think whatever you want about my reasons for disliking it, YOU DON'T KNOWWWWWW ME.

i think the human plot is just as cheesecake and stupid as the concept of fighting robots who inconspicuously turn into exotic cars

the plot isn't supposed to be of any substance, either

but stupid michael bay needs a love story to take up 50% of any of his action movies

which might be okay in a human-based flick

BUT I LOVE THE ROBOTS

its fucking god damn close...

and it was horrible from the very beginning... good to know that a super advanced robot has to project out an image/map from itself and physically look at it... I mean, thats almost as advanced as having to print out a list of numbers and hold it up to the monitor so that the computer can "see" it

ah, so they can travel billions of miles but cant send data to each other via wireless, makes perfect sense.

Because they were fucking lazy and knew they could get away with retarded shit because dumbshits would like it just to see cars turning to robots.

Movie was fucking garbage, as I said above, they were lazy fucks. Even the way the damn robot was found was bs, dogs smelled it... right. They could have EASILY made it some shit where global warming or some random shit exposed part of it but no, dogs had to smell it, then there happened to be a perfect slide down to this huge chamber of ice that somehow never filled in.. garbage

They have probably blocked off wireless communication so that they can't be hurt by electronic attacks.

That's probably why they have to talk to each other.

But still, it doesn't matter. People do want to watch cars turn into robots.

well thats fine, but they could have put a TINY bit of effort into it... perfect example, all three matrix movies were full of crazy, unrealistic shit, but one of them was SO much better than the others... why? cause it didnt have a billion holes and retarded shit thrown in every 5 minutes

It wasn't even a Transformers movie. The only thing it had in common with the cartoon was the name. They made a movie about some generic robots and paid to stamp the Transformers logo on it so they could get more people to go see it.

The end battle was extremely lame as well.

They had to totally change all the Transformers because it doesn't make sense to have small objects transform into large robots. I can see where they are going with that, but then they break their own rule with that stupid cube thing at the end.

They need to defend this cube from the Decepticons. What do they do? They leave an area where they'd be surrounded by natural structures on all sides but one or two and go to the middle of a populous city. Autobots like collateral damage... and protecting humans.

Like I said, it didn't feel like a Transformers movie. It felt like a robot movie. If it were a Transformers movie that was actually based on the cartoon they could have at least stuck to the cookie-cutter Transformers story line:

The Decepticons find a way to take control over the mind/body part of one of the goods.

That was the plot to about 90% of all the episodes.
