I'v seen several namedroppings on here over the years but I don't like the idea of just fading in/fading out for my slideshows; I'd like to do other interesting things like slow scrolling (horizontal and vertical) and other conservative yet interesting animations. I'm not looking for a replacement of Powerpoint, but I would like to have a variety that will pleasantly surprise a newlywed.

For free, preferrably, but if that's not the case, post other programs that you think are superior.

Can't Windows Movie Maker do this?

I know iMovie with iDVD on any Mac can do it. All these programs are free.

^ you actually don't even need iMovie to do this, since iDVD has some pretty decent slideshow options built-in. you can do more effects and transitions with iMovie, though.

I don't like Windows Movie Maker at all but if it comes down to that I can make it work... can I run Mac programs on my PC? The website for iMovie said I have to be a mac user.
