Isn't the Prince suppose to look.....Persian? Then again, the Prince looked like a generic white guy in the Sands of Time trilogy.

As long as it's got awesome parkour action in it and does a decent job of sticking to the story, I probably won't mind a whole lot.

This annoys me. I am a huge fan of the Prince of Persia series, even back to the original 2D games. Why do they have to cast a white Hollywood pretty boy for every movie? There are plenty of actors with a middle eastern skin tone that could pull it off. Even though they haven't been in any movies (that I can think of), Mohinder from Heroes or Sayid from Lost could do it. I was looking in to it further and they were seriously considering casting Orlando Bloom as the Prince too, lol. Although they did cast Ben Kingsley as the Vizier, so at least they got that right. After looking around on the internets, it seems that this guy would have made a perfect Prince:

^My dad is Iranian... him and everyone on his side of the family is far from white. And Mohinder would look a hell of a lot more authentic then Jake Gyllenhaal.

Let's face it, the movie industry in America is racist. When's the last time a movie was made here where the main character/hero wasn't white? When's the last time black people in movies didn't act stereotypically black, or the last asian character who wasn't an expert in karate? Etc etc.

I lke JG as an actor, but seriously to play the Prince of Persia? That is stretching the character/name of the movie a lil bit.

I think the guy from lost, as stated above, probably could pull it off, and even if they wanted to bring in a new actor for it. But damn JG as a perian? Lets be real about it...

Yeah, I'm not happy about Jake getting that role. And I hope they're doing the full costume and not just half of it.
Gah. I wish they would've cast Oded Fehr. Mmm. Not to mention he'd be better for the role than a white guy. Oh Hollywood..

I can think of plenty of times where Samuel L. Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Eddie Murphy,etc have played lead roles in movies.
