On a similar note...
Cutting jabaneros by hand and then not washing your hands afterwards is a terrible idea. I couldn't get the grill to light and I started sweating as I jiggled with the wires, and checked the tanks. My face started sweating and I just wiped the sweat with my hand. Shortly thereafter I felt like I had been sprayed in the face with mace. My nose started hemorrhaging snot and my eyes wouldn't stop watering even after 15 minutes of flushing with water. It was the suck.

I try to wash my hands thoroughly after cutting hot peppers, and I'll never get the oils that get up in my fingernails. It's a rude awakening once you scratch your eye.
