Just got back from the Dog Bar in NoDa. Went over there with my friend and his Irish Wolfhound/Huskey mix.

Gallery Crawl was tonight so the place was packed and the Charlotte Animal Control was over there having an adoption event and had a bunch of black lab puppies.

The place is awesome and Salvidor Deli is right down the street, which is also dog friendly and I had the best reuben i've had in a while.

Anyone been in the area lately?

I believe the owner is a lesbian but it's not a lesbian bar or anything (only lesbian dogs!!! lol). Everyone in NoDa drops by there with thier dogs. It's crazy how packed it is all the time.

That makes me miss Charlotte.
I only went up to NoDa once with some friends, but I loved the feel of it.

^"I remember thinking calling"????

It's much more packed than it was 10 years ago, but in no way is it lame. One of the hot spots in Charlotte. Property value has skyrocketed, bunch of new galleries/restaurants and lots of music all the time.

^ahhh yeah got it now. You mean calling it "NoDa" was lame. I think it's shorter than North Davidson and it's just like any other arts district in a city, just like "SoHo". It's kinda the most common naming standard for city districts.

Yes if you split it up like that mentally but for everyone else it's just "NoDa" and it refers to North Davidson and not "no-duh".

^or on a second thought maybe you've associated with the term "no-duh" before and that's why you relate it to NoDa. I never used the term "no-duh" and therefore it doesn't phase me.

Plus it's NoDa not NoDu

If it were Nodu i could see where you're coming from.

I thought it was North Dakota and I was like "No I haven't been in the area lately".
Definitely sounds like a cool place though.

after SoHo was named in the 60's nyc has been trying to name its areas with stupids names just like every where else in the USA.

FiDi, NoLita, BoCaCo, ProHi, WaHi and Dumbo are all shitty names for ares of new york.

lames

That place actually looks pretty cool.

The one I've seen around here is creepy. Middle aged women with their chihuahuas oblivious to the world sipping on tea

^Philosopher's Stone is awesome. I've had both Reubens and that's a hard choice.
^^Solstice is awesome.

Saw Zappa Plays Zappa at the Neighborhood Theatre and a few guys from the band walked into Solstice after the show and i got to meet them. Was pretty cool.

brought my dog to salvador deli this past weekend. we live out in the middle of nowhere, so she's not quite used to groups of people, nor loud music. she kinda freaked out when the band went on, but after she got some love and attention from others there, she calmed down. i thought it was kinda nice to be able to take my dog to the bar. but i think my dog, at least, could have done without the music.
