for that price range you'd really be better off using ubuntu (or any flavor of linux), or finding a copy of XP with a slightly less than optimal copyright standing

you should just rip all the less than necessary services and features out of a copy of xp home. unless you have some particular need for xp pro. its really stupid to run at all, especially on a low end machine

what's MS's licensing deal on OS's?

I have a copy of xp pro and vista ult, but both are being used on two different laptops. couldn't I just use my xp pro on another desktop? or is the license for just 1 computer?

I know my office license is for a couple of computers...

licenses for OS products generally arent allowed to be used on multiple computers at once



and use ubuntu, you n00b
