i was driving today and the back end of a dump truck hauling sand was about an inch open.

Cars were dodging it all over 440.

i sat in my civic cheesing like a mother fucker. I contemplated drafting the fucker!

I wouldn't get it fixed if it was just a little one, but the one across my light of sight to the road makes me a little nuts.

Actually had a guy today ask me in the parking lot today if I 'just got that'....... Ummmm, yea?!?

Without sounding like a bitch, I just care a little too much to leave it there....
I won't have to pay anything outta pocket - just the hassle of dealing with the insurance clowns.

40 is a mess with that gravel company by Umstead Park and all the service vehicles. My bimmer windshield has two cracks and my S2k has a ton of rock chips in the front fascia and on the hood. It's pretty much unavoidable I guess.

^^if you take it to glassmasters you won't have to deal with insurance at all.

^^ Never really had a problem until this incident.

^ How's that work exactly.... I filed my claim, and they'll send someone to replace it at my house, or @ work.

^^they take care of all the filing and insurance stuff. about the same as if you needed body work done, except even easier since no adjuster has to come out or anything like that.

what's really bad is when you crack your own windshield. a few years back i was going down trailwood in my ram and saw it throw a rock up out of the front tire (tires stuck out past the fenders a good bit). i'll be damned if the thing didn't land square into the middle of my windshield about 5 seconds later and spiderweb it, lol.
