Oh dammit...Now I'm pissed. I had every intention of buying some of these as soon as they went on sale and they have nearly every size except mine (12.)

I really want blue. Maybe Campmor or Sierra Trading Post will have them on sale. 8/21/2008 3:10:17 PM |

call the store- they can check and see if the one in cary or at north hills has those in stock in 12's
also, have you tried them on? because shoes like that usually feel a little big on my so you might be able to go down to the 11.5 8/21/2008 3:15:01 PM |

I have already tried them on and decided that is what I would buy. I am actually somewhere between 12 and 13, but nobody carries 12.5s. Most Merrells fit me in a 12, whereas I get 13 in almost every other brand. I have at least 6 pairs of their shoes at the house already, but I need another pair of water shoes. 8/21/2008 3:22:09 PM |

hah, i know...when super clearance rolls around, i tend to pick up some things...i won't be keeping everything i bought - buying online means i get better selection, but also means i double up on some things to make sure i get the right size...i outfitted both my trip to chile and my trip to sweden with super clearance items
without a doubt, the best part is that i can return any item at any time, no matter what
i did that once before, when i pair of merrells i had started to separate at the seam (outsole/upper) after 3 years...took it in, and they gave me the option of a refund or exchange 8/21/2008 4:15:01 PM |

^ yepper...and if you have it shipped to the store, it's free shipping...the best part isn't that you can just return it to the store...if you're a member, you can return it any time, whenever or to any store, no matter how long you've had it or what you've done to it (if you're a member, they have all your transactions on record...if you're not a member, you won't be able to return it later on down the road without the physical receipt)
i would never return something screwed up as a result of my own mistake...but i have no problem returning something that i felt wore out prematurely
membership can be a good deal in the long run...items ending in .83 don't go towards your dividends, but everything else does...you get 10% back at the end of the year

I've got a pair of Merrell Reactors in 13 that I never wear. I've only worn them a few times and they rub my pinky toe in a weird way. I bought them before I had an REI membership so exchanging them is out of the question. I'd consider interesting trade offers if anyone wants them. 8/21/2008 4:55:59 PM |

^^^^ Skack you should check out SRI Shoe Warehouse before getting those...I found some sweet merrell aqua shoes (yes, I wear boy's sizes) that were perfect and at a reduced price. they were fantastic for camping (in the rain)!
but my husband (who wears the same size shoe generally) couldn't fit into them b/c they were too narrow. best to try them on!

They only have it in 3x, but the one review said it was small on a guy who was 5'10" and about 220. So I figure I should fit, and if not then it was $10 with free shipping to the store.
Pretty excited about it none the less. 8/22/2008 1:44:18 AM |

quagmire02 All American 44225 Posts user info edit post |
^ tevas? you obviously haven't used chacos yet...buy yourself a pair and thank me later
i have two pairs of flips, a pair of hipthongs, and a pair z/1's
the z/1's have about 200 miles on them, from 3 continents, in climates ranging from rain forests to arctic glaciers
my tevas were torn up after a summer of camp, and my feet ACHE at the end of a day wearing them...something may have changed in the past few years, but until they start using vibram outsoles, they'll never be true competition...they are, however, in my opinion, more stylish 8/22/2008 10:24:27 AM |
