Yeah, this seems a little ridiculous to have a test and not really tell us much about what's on it. 8/21/2008 11:36:48 PM |

if you fail it.. he'll probably advice you to drop the class.
it should be pretty basic stuff that you should already know coming into the class 8/23/2008 11:43:35 PM |

Since the point is to accurately gauge whether or not you've been adequately prepared to take the class, preparation should not be required. He's not going to expect you to pull anything extremely detailed out of your ass for it. He probably just wants to see if you know the basic algebra you'll need for the class and maybe a few basic physics principals/concepts.8/24/2008 2:53:45 AM |

Get used to it. Less than 20%/test has been rare in the MAE classes I've taken.
Lyons is not too bad at all, I ended up with an A in there with minimal understanding of the material. He most likely changed the class since I went through 2 years ago but the derivations were minimal and he supplied a lot of the necessary equations and information.
Good luck.8/30/2008 3:24:23 PM |

^ Yeah I hear ya on that. I made the mistake of using a pressure table instead of temperature once, cost me around 20 points on an exam 9/3/2008 8:48:26 PM |
