that's a harder task than it seems at first.

i can think of two right now, but one band i wasn't familiar w/ until their second album and the other is a bit of a guilty pleasure, so i'm not going to list either.

radiohead is iffy can a band disappoint if their first album had no expectations so its ok that it isnt that good, but everything since has been great?

anything Ryan Adams has done

The Avett Brothers is probably my #1 though. I am in love with almost every song they've ever recorded.

^ i tried and tried and tried to think of a band that made more than one record that i wasn't disappointed with at some point

the only ones i could think of were joy division, neutral milk hotel, and my bloody valentine

but they built up to brilliant shit and then disappeared

so i don't know if that counts...it's practically like pulling a sex pistols/harper lee

right

but it sucks, the subsequent EPs are a little better, isn't anything/glider/tremelo are damn good, and loveless is fucking incredible

so there's no disappointment, it just gets better and better and then they stopped

really? I can understand that with a lot of bands that have pretty big catalogs but not any bands out there with like 3 albums or so that you really like all 3 or something? I mean, the amount of bands i like that fit this category is a small percentage, but I can certainly think of multiple bands whose albums have consistently been thoroughly enjoyed on the first listen.

i could probably think of a couple if i just sat here and thought about it for hours

but i'm not willing to put that much thought into it

and of the 200 or so bands i thought of, other than the three mentioned above that i don't think count, i can't think of one that applies

yes even Rock N Roll, I mean there are a couple songs that I could do without (all of the ones under 3 min) but there's some really good songs on there

This Is It
So Alive
Burning Photographs
Anybody Wanna Take Me Home
Boys

^^ yea, i mean the few bands on my list didnt have /dont have very big discographies so it makes it easier.

Minor Threat was one, but then again when all of your albums fit on one CD for your discography it probably isnt that hard to not screw up.

Mewithoutyou is another. each album has been better than the last for me but they dont have very many.

i mean, i like most of animal collective's catalog, but "danse manatee" and "spirit they're gone.." aren't very interesting (or good), and a few of their ep's ("people" and "grass") have been pretty forgettable..

arcade fire has two albums, so i don't count them. and you could say i was slightly "disappointed" with Neon Bible when it came out.

i mean, no band is perfect.

i guess i like everything i've heard from King Tubby, so i'll just put him

agreed but an album doesnt have to be perfect in order to not let me down. An album can be very solid but def not perfect and not disappoint me, so maybe we just look at stuff differently.
