i guess "big" letdowns is going to be very, very relative...even inside my own list

rilo kiley - under the blacklight
ryan adams - love is hell & rock n roll
le tigre - this island
the breeders - mountain battles
air - 10,000 hz legend
the strokes - first impressions of earth
foo fighters - there is nothing left to lose
wilco - a ghost is born

i know i am in the minority on this one but i think both hail to the thief and in rainbows are pretty weak

^ i was debating putting hail to the thief, but i like half of the songs

same with the green album...it wasn't what i hoped for, but it's good bubblegum, so it's not a huge letdown

yes.

six albums, the last of which came out last year

but the one i mentioned is the third one, and only four of the songs are worth listening to

it's been downhill since then, which is a shame

foo fighters is a damn good power pop album, and the colour and the shape is a masterpiece

my thoughts exactly good sir.

a few on my list would be:

deftones - self titled
weezer - green album
thursday - war all the time
hopesfall - A Types
Dillinger Escape Plan - Miss Machine
Converge - You Fail Me
The Smashing Pumpkins - Adore

a lot of those are good albums too, just not what I expected at all when I got them.

^^oh yea I really enjoy the album. But compared to gish, siamese dream, and mellon collie when I got it I was pretty let down.
