the best part was some goober in a bmw at an intersection in north raleigh that was flooded

news 14 was live and he tried to drive his car through about 4 inches of water and it stalled out

So I'm in my hotel here in Fayettenam this morning when I hear thunder and heavy rain. Turned on WRAL to hear that there is a possible tornado in Fayetteville near the I-95 corridor - right where I'm staying.

It was really sad how that car got swamped.

It belonged to one of the teachers at that pre-school. She left with someone that worked there to pick her daughter up at school because they let out early. While she was gone the parking lot began to flood. Everyone else got their cars out of the way. No one at the school had her keys and so they could not move her car and before she got back it was pretty much submerged.

We pulled it up the hill on to Trailwood and water began pouring out of it. When the teacher got back she opened the trunk which was filled slam full of stuff mostly books, notebooks, teaching supplies and stuff.

She busted out crying.

I mean it would be bad enough to have your brand new Honda totaled but to lose all that kind of stuff had to really suck.

The toyota guy went blazing in to the parking lot, only problem was you could not see where the driveway was since it was in a few feet of water.

The right tire went off the edge and then the front end dove down in the water. He had to get pulled out too. The thing actually fired up a couple of times afterward but it would not run (sputtered and then slowly died) we towed him back to University Woods.
