I don't get what the CPU vs GPU was supposed to be about.

Was the mona lisa supposed to represent the GPU (Dedicated machine producing graphics more easily and such)?

Or did they just do it for the hell of it, like they do on their show ("well this myth is busted, so lets put 1,000lb of dynamite in a truck and blow it up!")?
