i set it all up and it doesn't wanna work. no sending or receiving. i did the incoming as casummer.mail.ncsu.edu and the outgoing as smtp.ncsu.edu w/ the authentication and SSL encryption

anyone willing to walk through it with me?

it's some free wireless my apartment complex offers with a login similar to the ncsu nomad system

go to http://www.ncsu.edu and type "configure outlookT webmail" you will find step by step instructions.. thats how i did it.. or just clik on this

these are instructions for outlook xp.. its almost the same as outlook 07...

what are you using for the incoming server? it should be "username".mail.ncsu.edu

outgoing should be: smtp.ncsu.edu, or whatever the isp provides

when i hit send/receive i get these two errors:


Task 'NCSU Email - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC1A) : 'Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance.'

try mail.carolinanet.com

then in advanced, choose "My isp requires outgoing mail authentication" or whatever it says. put in your username & p/w for your isp

all i have is a login and password that works just like nomad on campus. it redirects you when you open your browser and you sign in. nowhere on that login page does it even mention carolinanet

the fact is smtp.ncsu.edu is supposed to work when you set up the encryption or whatever
