Help me TWW. Do not have dental insurance. Need a composite filling (will only get composite, no amalgam). Am willing to drive as far as Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Fayetteville, etc. if the dentist is good with composite (harder to do right than amalgam) and the price is right.

Do NOT say UNC dental school, already had one filling done there and do not want to go back. Otherwise, I am open to suggestions. Can not afford to go to the natural/holistic dentists that don't use amalgam.

How about within an hour's drive, just to limit things a little. Within an hour of NCSU, I'll go to whoever is GOOD with composite and cheapest.

in all seriousness here. dental works (crossroads) has a great check out plan. i had to get a tooth pulled. and didnt have dental. they are the quick lube of the dental world. they do certain things but not major stuff. they recomended me to a place in north raleigh and they pulled the tooth. dental works didnt even charge me and the other place gave me a great rate and i has no2 anestisia(sp fail)
for the time being rub bc pwder on your gums and i used about 3 tubes of orajel in about 2 days time. before i had the tooth taken care of

Yeah, it's my fault. Have not been taking calcium, can not take it within 4 hours of my thyroid pills so I forget it a LOT. Brushing and flossing is not always enough.

I am 25, this will be my 4th filling, and I REALLY FUCKING NEED A GOOD DENTIST THE FIRST TIME.

I already have one shitty filling that needs fixing and caused me pain, do not need two.

Some GOOD dentists charge more than others.

I do not want the cheapest dentist, I want the cheapest GOOD dentist. Big difference. Go learn to read.

Due to the cost of rent and advertising, the same quality of work will cost way more in some stuck up Cary office than someone out the outskirts of Garner that doesn't have a huge ad everywhere.

I have gone to enough drs to know this. Often the cheapest ones in out of the way places are the best. This is who I want to find.

dental school isnt that bad.. but if you had the choice, def. go with a private practice.

remember these are students pretty much using you guys as lab rats to get ready for the real world.

its much cheaper than private practice, but ive heard mixed results. you could probably go there for general cleanings, but anything regarding more than tools to scrape your teeth, i wouldnt do it. but thats just my .02.
