i probably drink a 2-liter of soda every day and at several 24-oz water bottles along with lots of beer/liquor in the evening

if you are running a lot i wouldn't worry about counting calories like that. your body probably doesn't care about 250-300 calories.

Dunno about coke, but you can find Cheerwine and Sun Drop made with cane sugar in glass bottles. You can get them individually from one of the inside vendors at the Farmers' Market, and I'm sure there is some way to get them by the case.

(Not that those are reduced-calorie in any way...but they're tasty and I'm a fan of lowering my HFCS intake...)

I like the idea of reduced calorie sodas as well. While the taste is by no means identical, Coke Zero isn't too bad...replace some of the sweetner with sugar and you'd probably be in good shape with a 'Coke Light' or some such drink.

Don't they have a Coke that is half the sugar of regular Coke? Or they did at some point in the recent past

Oh hell, you're right, C2. How quickly we forget.

I think it tasted a lot like Coke Zero, IIRC, which may have contributed to its demise when Zero hit the scene. I guess hitting the taste mark is harder than I'm giving them credit for.
