Alright, so I am in desperate need of a haircut (bad split ends), and I have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 9.

My hair currently falls just below my armpits (like mid-chest). It's really really thin and really really fine (ex: I have to wash it every 24hrs or it gets disgustingly greasy and I rotate between 5-6 different shampoos). I've never dyed or highlighted it, and it is a light brown color. It's also naturally straight (and flat ), and doesn't really hold curl well.

I'm open to any suggestions about cuts/styles that you think would be interesting. I don't think I have the face for anything shorter than shoulder length, though.

I think you'd look cool with one of those funky edgy kinda haircuts but i don't think its really you're style...
like

Keep it long enough for a pony tail I personally am a sucker for a girl in athletic shorts, t-shirt and a pony tail

you're not the only one. i also like it when the girl in said attire wears a hat and puts the pony tail through the hole in the back of the hat (adjustable hats only)

^yeah, i dont think that picture you posted is long enough for a ponytail though. i do like the whole sideswept locks thing, i usually part my hair on the side so that might be a good idea.

haha yeah thats what i was trying to describe is the side swept thing with longer hair. you'd have to have a hair clip of some sort to pull them back though for pony tail-age

If you go to design gallery, they'll give you a perfect haircut.

I've long since stopped deciding what I want. I go in, tell them "It needs to stay long enough to go in a ponytail, and also, please thin my hair", and let them go to town.

Go in, tell them what you want and what you don't like, and you'll get a stellar haircut.

^^yikes, they're expensive though. I go to Esquire's (next to Porters, etc) and the lady named Jill has done a good job styling my hair and cutting it, I am just thinking I need a change from "the usual".

I think ambrosia has a point, though, that you will probably get a result that fits you better if you take advice from your stylist rather than TWW. I did what she described at another salon (I have hair just like yours btw, thin and hard to do anything with) and I liked the result a lot.

These are cute and a few inches shorter will make your hair look fuller. Also, try a volumizing shampoo and if you avidly use conditioner, make sure that you are only applying it to your ends...

I'm a stylist...so if you have any questions before tomorrow, pm moi...or if not, good luck

Dude

Those are some shitty haircuts

I guess if you have thin, straight hair, you can't be choosy, but goddamn, those just yell 'worthless sorostitute'.

Um hi?...

They are pictures of celebrities so OF COURSE they are going to look over the top, but you can pull off a more casual look.

Yeah, I don't really know what she looks like, but sumfoo's cut is cute, although Jessiejepp wants to be able to pull it back still...

Who said anything about 'over the top'?

They look like shit.
They're also not that hard to find by taking a stroll through the brickyard at noon.
And guess what?
They still look like shit in the brickyard.

Some girls get shit luck when it comes to their hair, but that doesn't mean they have to pick a cut that emphasizes what their hair is lacking

^^couldnt she just not cut it quite as short as the pic he posted and still pull it off?

^^Gosh, gee, when I think of sorostitutes I think of "over the top", but I dunno...

It's hard to find specific cuts for people that you don't know or don't even know what they look like. But with any style photo, you can change/keep/morph other pictures and pick out what you want or don't want...

That's the point of styling books.

She'll figure something out with her stylist in the morning. She needs a consultation and some kind of idea about the length that she would like.

^And yeah a longer version of sumfoo's idea would be cute...I had that same haircut last summer. It was super easy to maintain...

i've always had the best luck when i just go in and tell them to do whatever they want to, and i never had hair that was shorter than chin length until i started going to the girl i go to now who decided i should chop off my hair so now i've got a funky chin length type cut that i get more compliments on than any h/c i've ever had

I think the cuts are fine, do you have any suggestions for long mid back length dark hair. very fine straight will not hold a curl either. owner is very lazy and will not style, so pony tail is a must.

i have really fine, really thin hair that breaks easily...

i cut it all off about 7-8 years ago. i will never have long hair ever. i tried growing it out a couple years ago but that didn't last. i don't have to do anything to my hair now except wash it (no brush, no dryer, no flat iron, etc).

^If you have a hard time growing it out perhaps you could try strengthening shampoo or Nioxin?...

I would suggest after getting your hair cut that you stop washing it so often. That is part of the reason you're getting bad split ends. You can "train" your hair to not need to be washed as often. At first it will be greasy but after a week or two it will reset itself and you will be fine. I only shampoo my hair 3 or 4 times a week, depending on how oily it's getting.

You can also try using a homemade shampoo on your hair. This has the benefit of not having any of the chemicals that can often spell split ends for your hair. This is one that I use that works well:

1 oz. Olive oil (cold pressed is best but I usually use whatever is on sale)
1 egg
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
3-4 drops of essential oil, such as peppermint or lavender
Use as you would a regular shampoo

At first you'll think your hair looks worse but after about two weeks you'll see results. A lot of the time I skip the egg as well.
