So I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding in 2 weeks. I have a dilemma. The dress is strapless and I can't find a bra to go with it! I am a 38 E so that basically rules out ANY regular strapless bra. I really need those longline strapless ones with the corset looking things, but I've tried everywhere and can't seem to find anything in my size. Department stores only carry to D or DD at most (same for Victorias Secret). I refuse to buy any bra online because they never fit right unless I try them on. Where to go? What to do? My time window is diminishing!

You should try a 40DD and hook it on the tightest loops!I'm bustin' out a 38DD and just recently found my most favorite strapless bra at Stein Mart!!! I got a minimizing one and a push up one. They are great!

Go to Lane Bryant.I know that they are a plus sized store, but the also specialize in carrying undergarments for large breasted women. The bulk of their bras are for Ds and above. The other Erica has good advice about checking out 40s. It will be easier to find an E cup in a larger band size.[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:38 PM. Try lane bryant. If not...shop online...you probably shouldn't have waited until the wedding was two weeks away before you started looking for a bra. I know what you're going through, this is something you should've planned out already.

jesus, what do 38 E boobies look like?? massive mountains of manly pleasure... [Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:40 PM. Reason : ;-o]

A little larger than 38 DDs.

Forgot to mention I'd been there (Lane Bryant). They don't have the longer strapless ones, just the generic ones, and I really don't want to be shoving my hands down the front of my dress all night to pull a drooping bra up[Edited on September 3, 2008 at 1:41 PM. Reason : ]

Lane bryant is not going to help. Their bras are, for the most part, absolute shit. The people who design the clothing at lane bryant should be replaced. As should their QA people. I would be floored if she found a strapless number that worked.OMFG, your only option is likely to order online. Figleaves will let you return stuff, so my advice would be to order eleventy billion styles, and keep the one that works. Return the rest. They also have the corset-style bras you're looking for.As for your friend?Quite inconsiderate of her to select strapless dresses for her bridesmaids, knowing she's got a big-tittied wench in her wedding party.

A bridal shop should have a long line bra in your size. I know when I was wedding dress shopping, they had the long line bras in larger sizes. (When I got married, I was a size 22 and wore a 44DD. *makes blowfish face*) I didn't get a bra from them though because I liked the generic strapless from LB.
9/3/2008 1:43:13 PM
Dillards carries large ones.

9/3/2008 1:44:53 PM
Since we are talking about bras, they did not have racer back bras for large breasted ladies at figleaves. I cannot wear normal straps because of my tweety bird-esque shoulders.
9/3/2008 1:48:08 PM
*THAT* is one bra LB got right. The front closing racerback underwire with soft cups <3
9/3/2008 1:50:33 PM
^^ There are eight of them listed under DD+ on figleaves, but they're all sports-bra esque

Yeah, I love that bra. I own it in multiples of every color, but they're getting really worn. I don't think that I have put one on since having the kid.Currently, I live in the Champion Sports Bras from Target. I'm usually stuck in sports bras because I don't have much of a choice in the industry.

Have you tried Pennyrich Bra Patch? There's one behind Kanki off Wake Forest Road. Call before making the trip since they have a limited in-stock selection, and be sure to bring your dress.
