You're confused. We're not degrading her daughter. We're pointing out her mother's apparent blindness to what actually prevents teen pregnancy (it's not the abstinence-only program she supports, obviously).

I could really care less about her daughter getting preggers, I'm more worried that the poor kid is now forced into raising the child and marrying the father due to her mom being in the spotlight (is that what she really wants? who knows). The topic of unwanted pregnancy is what's being discussed here, not derision on "OMG HER DAUGHTER HAD SEX!!!!"

but if you've ever seen these abstinence-only programs you know that they are more about scaring the fuck out of these poor kids rather than teaching them anything helpful

both Palin and McCain support abstinence-only programs, they're obviously not concerned with the teen pregnancy rate or the hardships these mothers have to deal with if they have to keep the baby the way Palin and McCain also stress
