If you get the free shipping now, they just wait 3 or 4 days to ship your order.

I ordered some stuff this weekend. It was shipped Tuesday when they were open again and I have it all now. I got free 2 day shipping.
9/4/2008 7:01:26 PM
they use the free shipping to fill-in between paid shipping orders. Just so happens it caught on....

you can try out their 2 day shipping for free for 30 days. You have to turn it off or they charge you $80 for a year but you get free 2 day shipping for the rest of the year.

what the hell happened to them?the economy. More specifically, they seem to think it's acceptable to sink down to a 'standard' level. Kind of like how target is starting to suck.

Ambrosia we were totally cool until you said target was starting to suck, take it back.

AFAIK this has always been the case.At least for a couple of years. This is why I usually use Barnes and Noble for books, because even though the book prices are a few dollars more, you get free 3 day shipping from BN, rather than free 10+ day shipping from Amazon.
9/4/2008 9:35:49 PM
^it's only happened to me in the last couple months.I always got free shipping items within a week, but my last few orders have had almost a week go by for "processing" before sending a tracking number that doesn't leave the warehouse for another day or two

heyyou're getting free shipping, and amazon usually has the best prices on shitdon't complainif you're really worried about it, sign up for amazon prime
9/5/2008 12:09:26 AM
that's the point, they're intentionally degrading their service to sell prime subscriptions.
9/5/2008 12:11:45 AM
for once I agree with ^^... amazon rules and prime is definitely worth it^ depends on how you view it... they are upgrading service for the people that shop there the most (prime members). [Edited on September 5, 2008 at 12:13 AM. Reason : d]

you can think whatever you like; I'm looking at an order of a single, in-stock item that I placed tuesday morning that is both "shipping soon" and thus can't be altered yet has a shipping date of next monday.a year ago I would've had it today or tomorrow at the latest[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 12:21 AM. If you can't wait a week for something, you shouldn't be picking free shipping anyway. They've always said that the free shipping might take 3-7 days to ship, you just took for granted all the times when they provided even better than promised service.[Edited on September 5, 2008 at 12:27 AM.
