we have high pile carpet and all i got for my desk chair is one of those regular clear plastic mats with the pegs on the bottom. my chair still sinks down and i can't roll around well.

anyone had the same problem? anyone find a solution?

it's annoying as hell when you roll your chair about an inch or two and it rolls right back into the holes where it was before.

My grandfather had one that appeared to made out of a slightly thicker version of the same material as clipboards. You will not get the holes that you are talking about. My Dad is actually trying to sell it on Craigslist right now. I have not seen many like this and do not know where to get them.

i do believe that would work. is he willing to sell the mat by itself? that chair looks highly uncomfortable and i have no use for it.

medium density fiberboard (MDF) from Lowe's or Home Depot

$25 for a board which is 4x6' or something like that

^^I'm sure he would sell it alone, and I agree about the chair. Maybe good for a desk where you just sit occasionally to pay bills (which is what he used it for). Don't know much about how to ship an item like this. PM me about where you live.

^I am talking about the older, higher quality ones, not the cheap ones made out of glorified cardboard. But yeah, even the good ones are some form of compressed cellulose. This is already cut and sanded to fit.
