Hi let's drop our two most popular anchors. That's smart.

That pretty much sums up why Olbermann shouldn't have been hosting political coverage. Cause apparently he doesn't know the difference.

Excellent.

The sooner that hacks like Olbermann and O'Reilly are formally ostracized from news reporting, the better. We've always had commentary from widely disparate viewpoints, but the polaraization of news reporting is a recent and disturbing trend in journalism. It's one of the main reasons that 2 groups of people can hear about the same event and come up with such different conclusions.

I used to kind of like Olbermann's show a few years ago. Now he's just way too full of himself.

I watched the conventions (parts of them) on PBS.
What did Olbermann and Matthews do?

My problem with it was that MSNBC presents those guys like they are "unbiased news casters". When Olbermann does his thing on The Countdown, I still think he is an idiot, but, hey...its his show...he can give an opinion about anything he wants. Foxnews knows that O'reilly is hack so they dont let him be a news anchor, which is appropriate. They are hacks and should be portrayed as and treated as such.

Everything that Olbermann said during the RNC was true.

Besides, Sean Hannity et. al. did commentary for both the RNC and DNC, and you don't hear anyone calling for their heads. I guess they're expected to show bias, though.

yeah, there is a big difference.

hannity is also way less of a douche than olbermann. i disagree with both of them more often than not, but i can't even watch or listen to olbermann...he just grates on my nerves.

I feel the exact opposite. Olbermann can be a bit preachy at times, but he's the only one in news who's shouting loudly about the shit going down in this administration. Hannity is just, well, Hannity.

Good to see that when the GOP whines about biased coverage and literally threatens to drop out of the NBC moderated debate that the networky capitulates.....where as you've got Obama willing to go on Fox News and get trashed but do you hear him bitching? Nope. Double standard.

Now, keep in mind that Olbermann definitely kicks like a donkey, pretty hard actually. More than I like in fact as it would surprise many of you to hear me say. But god man, no more than the wingnuts over on Fox and how ridiculously biased to the right they are. Hannity, O Reilly, Hume, Carlson? So many I can't count straight.

Just goes to show you which party knows how to game AND whine more.

Wow, did you even read anything about this? Or know anything about this? Yeah, FOX news has all those right wingers, but they aren't anchoring political events are they? You might see Hannity do commentary, but he is with Colmes, so it at least has two viewpoints, and again he isn't anchoring.

Olbermann shouldn't have been doing it, but he had a chance, and he blew it by going out of line.

Obama is on Olbermann right now.
Even though Olbermann is a total ass, Obama comes off really well.
Sometimes, I really hate that I can't vote for him.

But I really really do believe his policies would be a disaster. I think his health care policies would lead to a collapse of the private insurance market, raising the corporate income taxes will hurt US businesses and workers, nuclear power is not bad, etc etc etc.

Besides, I really like McCain as a person too. He's a hard fighting SOB that may not make a good speech, but could make a damn good President.

Is this the video in question? It appears to be either the Republican Convention or an episode of Countdown.

^^ Yeah. Seriously.

I mean, Hannity's a douche, too, but Olbermann is on a whole different level. Olbermann is as big of a douche as Rush Limbaugh...Sean Hannity is definitely not that bad.

I've never seen Olbermann make fun of someone that is handicapped to further his political agenda. Limbaugh wasted no time in ripping M.J. Fox and his disease when he disagreed with his stance on stem cell research.

Olbermann may be fiercely liberal, but he's at least humane about it.

I acutally didn't think it was funny, and I DO think he should be parodied...so it's not because I don't think there's potential in the subject.

I just think Affleck overacts (what's new) and is a huge douche. Also, Olbermann doesn't speak in like Shakespearean high tone like that so it's not believable. Definitely a terrible impression.
