I'll vote. I haven't decided on the presidential candidate I'll vote for, but since I live in NC that really doesn't matter that much. We all know which direction the state will go. 9/8/2008 11:58:02 AM |

No, we don't. NC is basically up in the air this presidential election. McCain only has a very slight edge from the last numbers I saw.
And yes, I will be voting early and often. 9/8/2008 12:04:39 PM |

i was on the fence until they picked Palin.
i love me some McCain, and i loved McCain in 2000 more than you can imagine. the party picked a guy who went awol to snort coke while McCain was serving combat duty - i couldn't get behind that then. and now they pick someone the caliber of Palin over all the other highly qualified candidates out there - i can't get behind that either. it was the straw that broke the elephant's back. if i didn't have a conscience, or had the IQ of most of the folks that vote right as a way of life, i could get behind it -- for better of worse, i fall into neither of those categories. 9/8/2008 1:38:18 PM |

I'm voting Nov 4.
No way I'm voting in a candidate who is more entrenched in the neocon warhawk Washington camp than even Bush. Furthermore....a heartbeat away is an an anti-science, uber-evangelical, creationist, bible thumping, book banning, and gun toting extreme republican political neophyte from Alaska?
NO THANKS. Obama/Biden all the way. 9/8/2008 1:51:32 PM |

Obama has my vote. Besides aligning politically more with him than what McCain has become these days, the chance to see NC go blue even once, and be considered a swing state for some time after that along with the elevation of issues important to NC thereafter seems exciting to me.
So yes, I'll be voting. 9/8/2008 2:13:25 PM |

Endorsed by North Carolina’s Teachers and Educators
Quote : | " Bev's Record on Education
• Bev is a former public school teacher and has a PhD in Education Administration.
• As chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Bev sponsored raising teacher salaries that moved North Carolina from 43rd to 21st in the nation at the time.
• Also as a leader in the Senate, Bev led school accountability efforts, was a leader in the fight for the creation of Smart Start, co-sponsored the Excellent School Act and the Safe School Act, and approved funding to increase the number of nationally certified teachers. North Carolina is #1 in the nation in certified teachers.
• Bev led efforts to create the Teacher Academy, the first professional training program developed for and by teachers.
• As a legislator, Bev helped to create and support the Low Wealth Schools Supplemental Fund (LWSF) and the Small School System Supplemental Fund. As a member of the State Board of Education, Bev helped develop and expand funding for the Disadvantaged Student Supplemental Fund (DSSF).
• Bev is a champion of technology in schools. She has created educational opportunities across North Carolina through online learning with the NC Virtual Public School and by providing broadband connectivity at public schools.
• As Chair of the Health and Wellness Trust Fund Commission, Bev has led successful efforts that increased nutrition standards and physical activity requirements in public schools.
• As Lt. Governor, she has served as Chair of the Business and Education Technology Alliance" |

Actually she was endorsed by the NC Association of Educators, which is basically a quasi-liberal teachers union.
I never got a voice on whether or not I got to endorse her, so I consider that endorsement worthless, and I don't like how she uses that on her ads either.
Edit: I don't like Easley either, but he did raise my salary and that can help me overlook some things.....so we'll see.

Bev Perdue is a part of the old time NC Democratic party, I would never vote for her, even if I agreed with what she said 100%. I could vote for Obama, but not Perdue.

I have been a McCain fan for a long time...he's disappointed me some in the last few years, but still much better than the alternative.
I voted Libertarian in 2004 (and only at the very last minute did i decide to even vote for President. i didn't feel good about that vote, but I guess it was better than not voting.) 9/8/2008 9:13:06 PM |
