I heard it was Thelma and Louise only with more action but it's not quite the cult classic I was hoping for.

No, I was looking for a decent action flick the sex and whatnot just happened to be in this one. I almost saw Man Bites Dog because I heard it was good and it was on the criterion wall at North American. After doing some research I determined it was disturbing and in any case not worth the time.
