Both of my grandparents, both of my parents, and every other relative I have ever known, have never voted anything other than Republican straight ticket, and they aren't afraid to tell you about it either.

The government has us in a gridlock. Think about your ballot. It has a list of candidates for each position and their PARTY listed beside each name. At the bottom or top of each, is a box for voting STRICKLY ALONG PARTY LINES. The government is promoting the candidates of each of these parties AND ONLY THESE PARTIES.

I want a list of each candidate for each position, NAME ONLY...NOTHING ELSE

I want to see a ballot from the 1700s or 1800s for a comparison. Has this always been the case??? No new party will ever be elected as long as this is the case.

^ also agreed.

I'd love to see a ballot without party notations.

Then people would either have to guess, or actually do their research for once.

I have voted a straight ticket before.

what would be better, to do what some PAPER tells me to do? (which I think I've actually done before, but... whatever)

you want me to go to every fucking debate for every post... fuck you I will, I have a goddamn life

...

I'm sorry we have an entrenched two party system... personally I would like to see it diversified

but until we change the mechanics of the system (first to the poll, say what?) I'm not going to concern myself with it too much

...

the main point is that it's a democracy, I can vote however I like

so the best response I have to you is... fuck off

this is what pegs you as a republican...you turn it into an argument about freedom and rights and similar bullshit, without paying any attention to the thought of just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD

if by "back" you mean "shot down like a dog when they raid my home" then yeah

I get tired of you fuckers thinking I'm a stinking commie just because I've read a little Marxist theory

in true American fashion I am vehemently (viciously?) independent

uhh, no

you are a commie

I peg you as a commie

you would be at the front of the pack, with dripping saucer like eyes, when the local trouble maker comes around spouting off about how the workers need to rise up and slit the throats of their masters
