but seriously though, i don't view countries as things to be hated or liked. they are not monoliths. you can talk about hating/liking the landscape, climate, people, laws, foreign policy, food, etc. but even then, there are big variations in those attributes. every country has good and bad landscapes, climates, peoples, laws, etc.

but yes, you can talk about hating/liking any of those attributes in general. i hate the US foreign policy, but so does > 95% of the world. i mean, any decent human should hate the atrocities that have been committed by the US directly and indirectly in the past 100 years, leading to the death of many millions of innocent humans, unless of course, you believe that massacres and genocide of some people are OK, but not of others.

i don't hate america, i hate its foreign policy. i am grateful to america for giving me the education it did (a lot if it free... THANKS!), and providing me with freedom for 7 years of my life.

EDIT: even as far as american foreign policy goes, there are GOOD aspects of it, such as all the aid that is given to poor and/or disaster-stricken countries.

^ What the hell are you talking about? I'm not claiming the 9/11 attacks were justified, whatever that means. I'm not counting the deaths of soldiers in the World War II toll. Our bombing campaigns killed civilians. Similarly, the ethnic Germans expelled from Eastern European couldn't be called combatants.
