looking for opinions and recommendations on a good voip phone software I can run on my windows pc and connect to SIP pbx. Ideally it would be great to have 1 software app that is my softphone and also IM client (for aim and others).

I looked at Google Talk and Skype but neither of them seem to support connections to your own SIP service

Also any recommendations on a good usb headset? I'm doing a lot of work from home right now so I need something thats comfortable to wear for several hours at a time.

I don't think there are any headsets that are comfortable to wear for several hours at a time...

No clue on the softphone to pbx issue.

If you want a hardphone, go with a Linksys/sipura ATA and a normal phone. I like any of the SPA-21xx series.

^ I'd really prefer a softphone just to avoid extra stuff sitting on my desk.. but polycoms are good if i end up getting a physical phone. i'll try out x-lite.

I'll send you a Grandstream 2000 if you overlook that I forgot to update my expired CC information for my hosting.

MagicJack

I like it. $100 bucks for let's just say 5 months worth of service compared to 5 months with vonage for the same price...and anything after that is gravy.
