I bought a computer with Vista against my better judgment 2 months ago, and i THOUGHT i had the updates turned off, but when i shut it down one night it started to update didnt think much of it. I go to turn the computer on and it continues the update (stage 3/3) and doesnt go past 0% then restarts..same screen and restarts, same thing keeps happening. it wont let me log on whatsoever, not even into safe mode. So before shelling out 200+ dollars for Geek Squad, anyone have any advice on what I could do...its an Acer Aspire x1200 if thats needed

Thanks

Once your computer is up and running again, back up the Windows partition. It's faster to restore a backup than to reinstall if it screws up again.

Are there any laptops that come with the vista cds? I want a new laptop next year, but I want a cd to reformat the computer with to get rid of all of the crapware that the manufacturers put on them.
