so i have this nose thing that has moved into my ears and the pressure in one of my ears is totally messed up. I can barely hear anything out of the ear, but I know it's just pressure and snot in there. anyone got any home remedies for equalizing ear pressure short of stabbing my eardrum with a toothpick? thx. 9/11/2008 2:56:02 PM |

Put a Q-tip in it (not too far) and yawn. I don't know why but it worked when I had this problem earlier. 9/11/2008 2:57:58 PM |

Screwdriver. In the ear, up to the handle. Ice pick could also be used. 9/11/2008 3:00:53 PM |

The best advice that I can give you (other than what has already been said) is chew gum. Chew, chew, chew. And drink lots of water.
I have a lot of trouble with my ears and the doctor tells me to chew gum every time I have a pressure problem. (Along with prescribing and shit ton of medication.) 9/11/2008 3:09:45 PM |

do a half-yawn...to the point where you hear that crackle in your ears. hold it, pinch your nose, and keep your mouth shut. while you've got everything shut, try to blow in or out of your nose depending on whether you need more or less pressure. always works for me when simply yawning doesnt. 9/11/2008 4:21:08 PM |

i had this happen one time a couple years ago...it sucked...i tried using some ear drops and they helped temporarily but werent perfect...i used some q-tips but they didnt do much...i blew down a bunch of rails and it still didnt help...kind of didnt mind though, i could go out somewhere noisy and didnt have to be annoyed by annyoing noisy people...went away in about 1-2 weeks 9/11/2008 4:29:08 PM |
