i like mine, the bags are expensive, even at wal-mart.

and yes i have put the bags in hot water. it's turns out VERY well.

they have generic cheap thin bags, NEVER get them.

the double thick name brands are great.

I was planning on marinating single servings of meat and then sealing them into pouches

same thing with some other stuff like garlic mashed potatoes and freezer slaw

most likely. that's why there are return policies.

i use it to marinade steaks, fish, etc...

works fantastic. also cheaper cuts of meat - tenderize/season, marinate, freeze. fantastic.
