Especially when they suck.

There were a bunch outside the bookstore today. As I passed two raced over and skated by me. One ollied and the other one manualed and then they stared at me for a second (THPS lexicon ftw). I didn't know if they wanted me to clap or give them a dollar or what. They probably just served me and knew I couldn't serve them back.

you know how there's always a bunch of them skateboarding in the mini brickyard at the south end of the FET? i think i could go out there and they wouldn't figure out i wasn't a skater for at least a few hours. i mean, i've never seen one of them actually land on his board. they just throw the board up in the air, kick their feet around a little, land on the bricks, and chase down their boards.

if for some reason i wanted to hang out with those punks, i swear i could do that shit and get away with it for at least a little while

either way, skateboarding is like owning a jeep, or playing guitar, or watching anime, or being a sports fan.... its a hobby that sorta defines you as a person.

i often wish i didn't quit skating

i was better than 90% of the kids i see in around campus in middle school. they all look like they picked it up 3 months ago.

i cant speak for that group but back in HS when I skated some with all my friends, none of us thought we were any good we did it for fun. so im sure we looked stupid but it was just a way to get outside, get a little excercise while we BSd and hung out. now, we didnt ever film ourselves so i guess thats a bit of a difference.

Filming yourself allows you to A) piece together highlight reals of those rare tricks you actually land... but much more importantly B)

you can see what your not doing correctly and how your screwing it up...

At least that's why we would film wakeboarding sessions... skateboarding I dunno if the same holds true

haven't skated in years, after a third sprained ankle off a stair set. i'm just a poser now who wears dc's.

I was going to eat at Mama Fu's uptown charlotte and there was a skater that another guy was recording. The kid almost fell into the busy street doing one of his tricks that he was CONSTANTLY failing to accomplish.

He was terrible!!

I just bought a skateboard a couple weeks ago (if that). Been longboarding for a while, but I figured I'd give street skating a shot before I got too old and decrepit. If you pick one up, let me know. We can go out and look ridiculous together.
